chief executive officer (ceo)

Dmitri Kharitidi holds a B.Sc. Honours in Biochemistry from McGill university. He is a PhD student in Biochemistry and Physiology. Dmitri works to understand integrin/fibronectin interaction during endosomal sorting of integrin a5b1 receptor and will be published in an upcoming article. These discoveries are crucial for understanding the influence of receptor-trafficking dynamics on the early steps of the metastatic cascade.
Chief financial officer (cfo)

Shawn McGuirk holds a B. Sc. Honours in Biochemistry from McGill University. He is a Ph.D. student in Biochemistry. Shawn’s research supports glutamine metabolism in breast cancer. In a collaborative research project with the University of Basel in Switzerland, Shawn adapted an algorithm for determining mitochondrial density to current technology. This ongoing collaborative study is an integral part of an expansive research goal of determining the role of cellular metabolism in therapeutic resistance in the field of breast cancer. This study was recently accepted for publication at the journal Cancer & Metabolism.
chief scientific officer (cso)

Dr. Étienne Audet-Walsh is a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University Faculty of Medicine. He holds a B. Sc. and a M. Sc. from Laval University. He is also obtained his Ph. D. at the same institution. Dr. Étienne Audet-Walsh was involved in projects in drug metabolism in close collaboration with industry. He participated in the characterization of enzymes responsible for the expression of several phase-II drugs and compared their expression levels with in vivo liver tissue. Dr. Audet-Walsh collaborations include clinical work on gene expression patterns in breast cancer tissues, and work on prognostic markers of prostate cancer progression, some of these patent-pending. In addition, Dr. Audet-Walsh collaborated on a clinical project on endometrial cancer with several clinicians working on steroid hormones and their relationship with endometrial cancer. These studies have produced research articles in peer-reviewed journals.
chief operations officer (coo)

Dr. Vincent Ménard holds a M. Sc. and a Ph. D. in Pharmacy from Laval University, where he is currently pursuing a MBA in finance. Dr. Ménard’s collaborations include the expression of enzymes implicated in the metabolism of estrogens, the gene expression profiling of endometrial tissues as well as the genetic study of polymorphisms in human drug-metabolism enzymes and their possible implications for HIV/AIDS treatment. In collaboration with several groups in the U.S. and Sweden, Dr. Ménard made his Ph.D. thesis on the discovery of splice variants of enzymes implicated in the metabolism of several highly prescribed drugs in different types of human tissues. Those different studies allowed Dr. Ménard to publish in several high-impact peer-reviewed journals during his graduate studies. His finance background also allowed Dr. Ménard to participate in the management of the market activities of an investment fund valued at more than 1M and to sit on the board of direction of a local financial institution.
chief Strategy officer (cSo)

Edwin Ferrer is an MBA candidate, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from the Distrital University, a Diploma in Customer Service Management from the La Sabana University, a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from Concordia University and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE. Edwin is a Project Management Professional (PMP). He has also developed interest in business development in the Biotechnology industry through different courses and academic activities. Edwin has led consultancy for the implementation of best practices in information technology for companies in the public and private sector, as well as project management consultancy for a variety of organizations.
chief intellectual property officer (cipo)

He completed his First Honours Bachelor in Biochemistry at McGill University before pursuing law. He acted as a legal researcher for the director of the McGill Law Faculty's Center for Intellectual Property Policy in the latter half of his law degree, and in this time he also co-founded an internet media and content aggregation company. He received an innovation fellowship from the University of Toronto's Centre for Innovation Law and Policy, and completed his LL.M. in August 2013; his research focused on re-characterizing Law's relationship with Information. Lucas has experience in raising dilutive capital, forming partnerships, and general IP strategy. Lucas’ research focuses on the relationship between law & information, seen as merely the subject of law, but also as an object acting upon law itself.
